The General Manager for the Aero-navigation Service Department of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Ch.Tserendorj and the Manager for the Flight Arrangement and Accommodation Department, CAA D.Munkhbayar have participated in the 12th conference of Cross Polar Trans East Air Traffic Management Provider's Work Group organized by the International Air Transportation Association (IATA) in Beijing, People's Republic of China, between December 06-09, 2011.  More...

This Work Group aimed on improving the flight traffic service for aircrafts serving cross polar and on the route connecting North America and South East Asia through the Russian Far East airways. Thus, this work group meeting is organized annually to solve, discuss and arrange upon various issues regarding service, technological renovation and flight traffic arrangements.
Airway navigation service providers from 10 countries including the Russian Federation, Canada, Iceland, Norway, Japan, People’s Republic of China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates and the United States and 52 delegations of air carriers have participated in this year’s meeting.
As for Mongolia, it is the first time to participate in this meeting, where the Mongolian delegations where warmly greeted at the delegations’ brief introductions. Mongolia was tending to participate as an observer, however it was considered appropriate to make brief introductions on the big scale works made in the Mongolian civil aviation sector. Information was provided in the following topics:
- A Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum implementation (RVSM implementation on 17 Nov 2011 at 0001UTC);
- Current and future outlooks on navigational and communication equipment, covering the Mongolian airway;
- Utilization of the secondary surveillance radar (RADAR SSR);
- Accommodation current for flight traffic; and
- Progress for the 2012 Flight Plan.
Also, the Taiwanese “Eva Airlines” said that pleasant opportunities are at place to set their flights in the European route through the Mongolian airway, whereas “ANA airways” promised to review their routes to Europe.
To wrap up, information was collected on the policies of neighbor countries on routes to the South East Asian countries through the North Pole and confidence is high in the opportunities to deliver the many projects on attracting international cross pole flights going through Mongolian airway to many air carriers.
