With the investment of the Ulaanbaatar Fund, the Emergency Medical Service Centre has recently acquired 30 new fully equipped ambulances of an international standard. Therefore, the centre now has 57 ambulances and the speed of emergency medical services will improve, decreasing the waiting time of citizens in critical situations. More...
There is a study that claims emergency medical services will be able to reach citizens in a short amount of time in Ulaanbaatar (with a population of over one million) only when the centre obtains 150 ambulances. The Deputy Minister of Health, J.Amarsanaa, claimed "According to a study, 50-60% of emergency medical services reach people in 20 minutes. If we consider the mortality rate, two thirds of people perish before the ambulances arrive. Now as the number of ambulances increases, service speeds will improve and the emergency physicians will be able to save people's lives in time."

Ambulances, equipped with recovery equipment and heart supporting apparatus, were made in Korea and each one of them costs 62 million MNT. The new ambulances embody various other equipments, vital for saving patients.
