The launching ceremony of the arts exhibition named "Mongol" dedicated to the 850th anniversary of the birth of Great Chinggis Khaan is to take place at the Exhibit Hall of the Union of Mongolian Artists (UMA) on September 26, 2012. More....

The Exhibition is initiated and performed by the four friends’ artificial pieces of the Director of Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery an UMA laureate artist Adiyabazar CHADRAABAL, UMA laureate artist Darmaa BATMUNKH, UMA laureate sculptor Ayurzana OCHIRBOLD and UMA laureate artist Ochirbat ENKHTAIVAN. The joint exhibition displays themed upon the great history of Mongolian nomad people, philosophy, traditional customs, animal, natural order and casual living of Mongols, moreover some artificial works significant with its modern and contemporary arts tenders and all are unique with its diversifications.
Union of Mongolian Artists
Established in 1942, the Union of Mongolian Artists (UMA) is the largest, national, non-profit, arts organization which aims to promote Mongolian fine art and art crafts. The main goal of the UMA is to promote the works of Mongolian artists (UMA) in Mongolia and overseas and to assist international collaboration of Mongolian artists with their international partners. All the activities of the UMA are intended to contribute in the development of fine art in Mongolia.
The UMA is a member of International Association of Art (IAA) and International Organization of Folk Art (IOV/IOFA), a division of UNESCO.
Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery
The Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery (MNMAG) collects, preserves and exhibits modern and contemporary Mongolian artworks. The collection serves an important role in documenting the social, historical and cultural evolution of the country. In 1991, MNMAG separated from the Fine Arts Museum of Mongolia and became an independent organization, dedicated to increasing public appreciation for Mongolian modern visual artworks.
The Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery is a government-supported arts organization. Its collection forms the basis for providing aesthetic experiences and art education to the public. The gallery’s unique collection consists of Mongolian modern and contemporary paintings, sculptures, prints, crafts and other new forms of art and artifacts which possess originality and a superior Mongolian thematic identity. Artworks in the collection cover a range of themes from history and cultural traditions to landscapes and contemporary expressions.
